The PSI 63C0.728L1 is a medium-frequency inverter built by Bosch Rexroth Indramat and assigned to the PSI Frequency Inverters series. Designed for integration into induction heating equipment, it converts standard factory mains into a controlled medium-frequency output that matches tooling impedance. By regulating power in real time, the inverter supports stable thermal cycles required for brazing, forging, and shrink-fit stations within automated production lines. The unit interfaces with higher-level controllers through analog and discrete channels, allowing coordinated operation with material-handling axes.

At nominal operating conditions, the converter draws up to 110 A from a three-phase supply rated at 400–480 VAC and synthesizes a 1000 Hz sequence to energize the work coil. An analog force command of 10 V is provided for proportional control, while the E/A_DISKR2ED interface routes 26 discrete inputs to the drive logic for permissives and process starts. Base thermal dissipation is limited to 69 W; however, when the primary current approaches the design ceiling, cabinet losses can rise to 170 W, which helps determine airflow and enclosure filter sizing. Both the internal electronics and the axial fan are powered from a common 24 VDC rail, and the dedicated stop circuit can interrupt 3 A at the same voltage for functional safety chains.

Heat removal is handled by an air-cooled plenum, so no coolant plumbing is required. Power cabling must use a minimum cross-section of 35 mm², and the line terminals accommodate conductors up to 50 mm² to withstand the converter’s maximum primary feed of 800 A without excessive temperature rise. Downstream, the PSG 3100 transformer can deliver 36 kA on the secondary, and Bosch Rexroth specifies 100 mm of installation clearance to neighboring panels together with a 3 mm door gasket to preserve airflow paths and enclosure integrity.
