Product Description:
The PSI 6300.625L1 is a medium-frequency inverter manufactured by Bosch Rexroth Indramat within the PSI Frequency Inverters series. Deployed in resistance welding and other high-current automation cells, the unit converts three-phase supply power to a controlled medium-frequency output that stabilizes weld energy and cycle times. It sits in a protective cabinet alongside welding transformers and PLC hardware, providing programmable current pulses that support consistent joint quality on automated lines. This arrangement allows the inverter to serve as the central power-conversion stage for repeatable welding processes in automated production equipment.
The inverter accepts a three-phase supply in the range of 400–480 VAC, and under nominal loading it draws 110 A from the mains. A minimum cable cross-section of 35 mm² is required for these connections. Internal control loops close every 1 ms, so current delivered to the welding transformer is recalculated on each regulation cycle. The control board is powered from an auxiliary bus, and its digital terminals provide 8 configurable inputs and 8 configurable outputs while DeviceNet offers networked parameter access. An auxiliary I/O module runs on 24 VDC, coordinating up to three programmable weld times to match different material stacks. Because the unit is air cooled, installation in ventilated cabinets is sufficient for thermal management, and routine cabinet airflow can remove heat without liquid-cooling hardware.
At idle, the air path dissipates 69 W of basic cabinet heat, rising to 170 W when the inverter operates at maximum duty. These thermal figures guide the sizing of enclosure fans and the spacing around the heat sink. The power section can deliver up to 800 A of primary current to the welding transformer, corresponding to a secondary pulse capability of 36 kA for short-duration joints. Despite this output capability, the enclosure measures only 448 mm tall, 239 mm wide, and 280 mm deep, making it compact for multi-gun cells. Adequate airflow across the housing helps keep semiconductor temperatures within operating limits during continuous production runs.
