PPC servo drives are available with two single and double width enclosure variants. These powerful and compact controllers are equipped with the ability to function like an NC controller or a PLC based on the loaded software and application. They come with two serial interfaces that are connected as per the Indramat standards.

PPC-R01.2 servo drives are sized at  192 x 150 x 41.5 mm (H x D x B). On the other hand, PPC-R02.2 servo drives are slightly bigger and sized at 192 x 150 x 83.7 mm. These Rexroth servo drives can be fitted with PC/104 modules for open field bus interfaces based on the application. They tend to get damaged if their connectors are inserted or removed when the power is switched on. PPC servo drives must be grounded using a 6mm2 or higher grounding cable connection between the central grounding point of the machine and the grounding stud of the controller. PPC servo drives incorporate a BT bus connector to connect application-oriented input terminals with a cable of a maximum of 50 meters in length.
The servo drives need a module carrier system for their installation. This carrier can be used only to fix the drives and not control them.
Multiple Rexroth PPC servo drives cannot be interconnected with the help of a back plane. 
The lightweight servo drives require a 24 VDC power supply for their operation and must be used at a temperature ranging between 0°C and 45°C.
PPCR-R servo drives can be deployed in paper and printing machinery, machine tools, packaging industries and machining centers.

PPC-R01.2 servo drives must be inserted in slot 0 on the left side of the module carrier, while PPR02.2 servo drives are inserted in slots 0 and 1. The I/O modules are positioned to the right of the servo drives in slots 1 to 15 or slots 2 to 15.  These Rexroth servo drives use a 3.5 V lithium battery that has to be replaced every year. These drives additionally feature a Power PC processor, a four-digit display, 8MB SDRAM, 256 bytes EEPROM, a real-time clock with optional battery backup. 

The servo drives encompass three current-sinking digital inputs, two digital outputs and 1 Bb relay contact. The relay contact is used for system monitoring purposes and signals when the drive is ready for operation. The drives also have support for a SERCOS interface and a RECO/SPS interface. The full range of Rexroth PPC servo drives can be assembled, installed and operated only under the conditions described by the manufacturer.
