The PPC-R02.2N-N-L2-NN-NN-FW is a highly functional CNC control unit that can control multiple drives simultaneously. The control unit comes with the IP 20 category ingress protection and is safe from penetration of objects as large as 12.5 mm in size. Depending upon the required application, the control unit can be used as a programmed logic controller or an NC controller. The device supports data transfer through serial interfaces RS485, RS232, and RS422. This device is installed inside a machine’s switch cabinet and the RMB02.2 assembly rack is used for installation. The control unit’s lithium battery can buffer the SRAM as well as the system clock. Important NC data is stored in the SRAM including NC cycle packages, machine parameters, tool data, zero offsets, NC program packages, and NC variables.

The PPC-R02.2N-N-L2-NN-NN-FW has three-axis processor modules that are supported by the Sercos interface. In addition, there are three optional sockets as well. The axis processor modules can be plugged in the optional sockets for 8 additional drives. In the maximum configuration, the Sercos interface allows controlling up to 32 drives. For system diagnostics, the device is supported by a serial COM interface. The device is often used with machine centers, machine tools, and rotary transfer machines. The PPC-R02.2N-N-L2-NN-NN-FW can be used with Rexroth’s operator terminals (BTM 15/16, BTA20) because of its operator input terminal bus.
