The PPC-R02.2N-N-L2-NN-NN-FW is a programmable control unit produced by Bosch Rexroth Indramat within the PPC Controllers series. Installed in a RECO rack, the module supervises motion sequences and communication for Sercos and ControlNet-based drive systems, providing centralized coordination of up to forty servo axes in automated machinery. Its role is to process control programs and send synchronized drive commands, which helps axes follow timed motion profiles across packaging, printing, and material-handling lines. It can also serve as the central node for coordinated start, stop, and status handling between the machine controller and connected drives.

The housing measures 192 mm in height, 83.7 mm in width, and 150 mm in depth, so cabinet layouts must allow enough room for airflow and neighboring modules. A weight of 1.3 kg keeps the unit manageable during installation and limits mechanical load on the rack backplane. The controller operates from a nominal 24 VDC supply and can draw as much as 1.2 A when its interfaces are active, so the supporting power source must be sized accordingly. Its IP20 enclosure is intended for use inside an electrical cabinet, where it protects internal circuitry from finger contact and ordinary dust accumulation.

The module includes 3 optically isolated digital inputs and 2 transistor digital outputs, and each output responds within 400 µs for interlock and handshake signals. Two serial ports support local communication links, while three expansion slots allow optional interface cards even though onboard memory expansion is not included.
