Designed as a programmable motion and logic platform, the module orchestrates servo drives, distributed I/O, and operator terminals throughout automated packaging, printing, and material-handling lines. By fitting directly onto a DIN rail, it delivers centralized axis coordination and machine sequence control without occupying a full rack enclosure.
The module operates from a nominal supply of 24 VDC and remains functional down to 20 VDC, drawing a steady 1.2 A during normal processing. SERCOS fiber ports on the front panel sustain data rates up to 16 MBaud, ensuring rapid cyclic exchange with drives. Local software and user programs reside on a 32 MB CompactFlash card, and the controller carries 3 expansion slots for additional I/O or communication cards. A 4-digit alphanumeric display presents status codes, while onboard Ethernet provides TCP/IP access for diagnostics. Wiring uses 1.5 mm² conductors, and the double-width RECO housing snaps onto a TS 35 × 27 × 15 DIN rail. Two serial ports allow connection of external devices, the memory expansion bay is not equipped, and the controller is released as Design Version 1.
