It acts as the motion and logic coordinator for servo drives and distributed I/O, exchanging real-time data through Sercos rings, onboard Ethernet, and dual serial channels for synchronized machine control. By combining cross communication with the factory-installed DAQ03 link ring module, the unit synchronizes axes, acquires process values, and forwards status information to supervisory controllers during operation.

The controller is powered from a nominal 24 VDC bus that may vary between 19.2 VDC and 30 VDC with a permitted ripple of 4 Vpp. At full load, it draws up to 1.2 A, while an additional 2.6 A rail supports stacked I/O modules. Each digital output can deliver 0.5 A and reaches its final state within 500 µs.
