The PPC-R22.1N-T-G2-P2-N1-FW is a control unit from Bosch Rexroth Indramat’s PPC Controllers series. The module serves as the central motion and logic processor in distributed automation, coordinating drive tasks and sequence control over machine networks. By combining local processing with multiple field interfaces, it reduces PLC load and supports deterministic axis synchronization in packaging, assembly, and handling stations. This arrangement also allows time-critical machine actions to remain local to the controller instead of being handled by a higher-level system.

The controller operates from a system supply of 24 VDC. Within that supply range, it draws up to 1.2 A, and voltage ripple is limited to 4 Vpp to help keep the internal logic stable. Cable runs can use conductors up to 1.5 mm², matching the pluggable spring terminals on the RECO housing. Environmental protection is rated at IP20, so the unit is intended for enclosed cabinet mounting where dust and moisture are controlled. Program code and system parameters are stored in a nonvolatile flash array of 32 MB, eliminating the need for a separate memory card, and the unit has no additional memory expansion. A front-panel 4-digit alphanumeric display provides immediate status codes, while three digital inputs and two digital outputs handle simple machine signals that do not require a separate I/O slice. Communication is provided through an embedded Profibus fieldbus slave interface and an onboard Ethernet port, enabling real-time data exchange with higher-level controllers or SCADA systems. When an NSW01 PLS module is installed, it provides 16 pulse latch outputs for high-speed registration tasks on form-fill-seal or cut-to-length equipment.
