The PPC-R22.1N-N-N1-P2-NN-FW is a modular control unit built by Bosch Rexroth Indramat and delivered within the PPC Controllers series. Designed for DIN-rail installation inside a protected cabinet, it coordinates motion sequences and machine I/O through an integrated Profibus interface and several onboard logic resources. As a controller, the device sits between higher-level PLCs and individual drives, issuing deterministic commands and processing feedback in real time to keep automated stations synchronized. Its function is central to packaging, material-handling, and assembly lines that rely on distributed drive control.

In operation, the controller runs from a 24 VDC service supply that keeps logic and indicator circuits active during mains isolation. Two high-side transistor channels offer a continuous load capacity of 0.5 A, allowing them to drive contactors or lamps directly. The unit has 3 opto-isolated digital inputs that accept 24 V signals for limit feedback, while two outputs return acknowledgments to the line. The backplane provides three free expansion slots for add-on cards such as the NSW01 PLS timing module, extending deterministic sequence control without CPU replacement.
