Bosch Rexroth Indramat’s PPC-R02.2N-N-NN-NN-FW belongs to the PPC Controllers series and functions as a compact control unit for coordinated motion and process sequences in industrial automation cells. In design version 2, the module fits a RECO housing that measures 192 mm high, 83.7 mm wide, and 150 mm deep, permitting direct rack installation inside an IP-rated cabinet. It draws logic power from a 24 V rail and communicates with drives and peripherals through dedicated I/O channels. This arrangement lets the controller manage machine sequencing and axis-related tasks while remaining separate from the high-power drive electronics in the cabinet.
The controller operates from a regulated supply of 24 VDC, and its electronics require no more than 1.2 A during peak demand, a value important for sizing cabinet power supplies. Program code resides in 4 MB of flash, while dynamic data is buffered by 8 MB of SDRAM. Nonvolatile process variables are retained in 64 KB of NVRAM to survive power cycles. Because there is no memory-expansion slot, application storage is limited to the onboard flash and a 256-byte serial EEPROM that stores identity parameters. Ripple on the incoming DC bus must remain below 5% to prevent logic faults.
Total I/O-bus consumption never exceeds 52 W, so multiple controllers can share a common supply without tripping branch protections. The unit supports three digital inputs and two digital outputs, and input signals are latched, evaluated, and propagated to the outputs with a maximum delay of 400 µs. This short response time helps the controller handle time-sensitive status changes during motion tasks. The enclosure has an IP20 rating, which means it is finger-safe but requires a closed cabinet where dust or moisture may be present. Overall mass is only 1.3 kg, allowing DIN-rail mounting without additional supports and reducing load on the mounting structure.
