The PPC-R02.2N is a control unit manufactured by Bosch Rexroth Indramat for the PPC Controllers series. It occupies the controller slot in an automation rack, runs user tasks, scans three onboard digital inputs, and switches two digital outputs for connected devices. Supplied with 24 VDC, it coordinates machine sequences by combining processor performance with nonvolatile storage so programs and parameters remain available after power is removed. This arrangement allows one module to handle logic execution and local signal exchange without requiring a separate basic control card.

Computation is handled by a PowerPC CPU that accesses both permanent and working memory. Application code is stored in 4 MB of flash memory, while dynamic data is processed in 8 MB of SDRAM; this combination supports motion or PLC tasks without the delays associated with limited working space. Data that must remain available after power cycling is kept in 64 KB of NVRAM. The logic section connects through two serial ports, draws up to 1.2 A from the backplane, and can supply as much as 52 W to remote I/O modules. The board uses a 24 VDC rated supply voltage, so it can connect directly to standard control cabinet power rails. No memory expansion slot is provided, so the available memory remains fixed.

The controller uses a RECO housing with IP20 protection, so it is intended for installation inside an enclosed cabinet. Its dimensions are 150 mm depth, 192 mm height, and 83.7 mm width, which allow side-by-side mounting with compatible modules while maintaining clearance for airflow. Despite the enclosed electronics, the unit weighs only 1.3 kg, which keeps mounting requirements modest. The enclosure protects against accidental contact with internal parts, but it is not intended for direct exposure to dust or liquids. A 256-byte serial EEPROM stores unit-specific calibration and identification data.
