The NAM 1.3-08/S007 is a line connection module that is used with the TVD and TVR series of power supply modules. This line connection module contains the line side infeed with the fuse switch disconnector or the main circuit breaker. The device can provide a connection between the plant power system and line modules. The device also contains commutation chokes and also a built-in DC bus system. The commutation choke acts as an inductive device and is placed between the motor and the drive. It is installed between the output of the servo drive or a variable frequency drive and the terminals of the AC induction motor or servo motor. With the commutation choke, the NAM 1.3-08/S007 is able to reduce current peaks. These current peaks often arise at the drive output because of pulse-width modulation.
The NAM 1.3-08/S007 supplies the TVR and TVD power supply modules. These power supply modules contain a power rectifier that converts the AC line voltage and the DC bus voltage. This is done to supply power to the connected drives. The power supply modules can absorb the electrical energy that is generated when the drive is operating in regenerative mode. This energy can also be absorbed by the bleeder resistor. Through these power supply modules, the drives are supplied signal voltage through a wire-ribbon cable. These power supply modules come with a wide range of monitoring functions. They can communicate with the drive with a wire ribbon cable and can cut off the power supply in case of an emergency.
