Product Description:
The KDV 3.1-100-200/300W1-220V belongs to the NAM Power Line Form Modules series and acts as the central supply element for drive packages that share a common DC link. The module rectifies and smooths three-phase mains power into a regulated bus, allows regenerated energy to be returned to the supply, and furnishes auxiliary voltages for control electronics and cabinet ventilation. By combining these tasks in one chassis, the unit streamlines cabinet layout and supports coordinated motion sequences in industrial automation lines.
During motoring demand, it can feed drives with up to 48 kW of peak power, while its regenerative channel accepts 40 kW so dynamic braking events do not overload the DC network. A stabilized bus of 300 VDC is maintained, and the link can deliver a momentary surge of 160 A for 300 ms when axes require rapid acceleration. Continuous conduction is limited to 100 A, which sets thermal design and conductor sizing. The electronics dissipate 150 W internally, and a further 500 W of fan-driven losses exit to the surrounding air, so enclosure airflow must remove both heat sources. With the bleeder resistor rated for 0 W of continuous operation, excess energy is sent back to the mains rather than converted to heat.
The AC input is 3 × 220 V, and the control circuitry is powered from a separate 220 VAC auxiliary line that is limited to 500 VA. The logic supply can source a 11.5 A 24 V rail for external sensors, and a dedicated 1000 VA tap supports the cabinet fans that evacuate internal heat. Regenerative events of up to 100 kWs are accepted before the unit commands a controlled shutdown, protecting both the drive and the supply. The housing is rated IP10 for basic finger protection while leaving ventilation paths open, and the total mass is 21 kg, which affects panel reinforcement and shock-mounting requirements.
