Bosch Rexroth Indramat manufactures the MTS-P02.2-D4-P1-P2-NN-NN-FW. The unit is a control processor card in the MTS Servo Control Modules series and is intended to supervise multi-axis drives within distributed automation cells. By linking fieldbus traffic with onboard digital I/O, it routes motion commands and status data between higher-level PLCs and the servo inverters that power individual machine actuators.

The module’s Profibus interface supports transfer rates up to 12 Mbaud, enabling tight cycle times for position updates. For basic service tasks the diagnostic port offers RS232C communication at 600 baud. As a Profibus master it reserves 512 I/O bytes for its internal process image and can coordinate as many as 125 attached slaves while permitting up to 32 user devices on each segment. Individual slaves may occupy 244 bytes of input or output space, and a separate 368-byte image is available when the board is configured as a slave itself. Local control tasks are handled through 16 TTL digital input lines and 16 TTL digital output lines that share the same back-plane timing.

Power is drawn from the +5 V rail, where the controller requires 1.8 A; ripple on this supply is limited to 50 mV. Additional +12 V and −12 V rails support analog sections, and their combined ripple is held below 120 mV. Mechanical integration is straightforward because the card measures 22 × 145 × 295 mm and fits into the standard Euro-rack slot provided in Indramat drive cabinets. Up to 4 BT terminals can be attached on the front panel, and the same slot can host four PC/104 add-on modules to extend feedback or memory resources. Together these electrical, mechanical, and power characteristics complement the communication features described earlier and allow the module to operate as a compact supervisory element inside coordinated drive systems.
