The MTS-P02.2-D4-B1-P1-S4-NN-FW module is produced by Bosch Rexroth Indramat within the MTS Servo Control Modules series. It functions as a compact control platform that links fieldbus networks, serial devices, and low-level I/O to motion drives in automated machinery. By combining bus conversion, buffering, and PLC signaling on one card, the unit coordinates axis commands and feedback between higher-level controllers and Indramat servo hardware. This arrangement lets the card pass command data, status signals, and feedback through one rack position instead of requiring separate interface modules.

In terms of physical layout, the card measures 22 x 145 x 295 mm, so it fits directly into an MTA rack without extra spacers. Four terminals form the BT backplane, and the internal traces support a bus length of 50 m between modules. Up to four PC/104 expansion boards can be stacked, and the +5 V rail can supply a maximum of 1.8 A to those peripherals. For deterministic field communication, the integrated Profibus node employs the DPM01 daughter board and sustains a data rate of 12 Mbaud. A serial FIFO with 256 Byte of buffering smooths bursts from the asynchronous ports. The card also accepts an IBM2 Interbus plug-in so Interbus telegrams can share the same backplane.

Through the IBM2 option, Interbus cabling can span 12.8 km without repeaters, enabling remote valve islands to report status back to the drive cabinet. The Profibus line can exchange up to 244 In / 244 Out bytes per cycle, and logic handshakes can be issued through a PLC-ready contact rated at 24 V and 150 mA. Two serial connectors provide 2x RS232, 2x RS422/485 lines, while the SIO 04-B plug-in selects the active protocol. Discrete signaling is handled by 16 TTL inputs and 16 TTL outputs. Internally, the board distributes +5 V, +12 V, -12 V supply rails so mixed-voltage sensors and transceivers can be powered from the same slot.
