Product Description:
The MTS-P02.2-D4-B1-P1-NN-NN-FW is a servo control module produced by Bosch Rexroth Indramat for the MTS Servo Control Modules series. Installed in multi-axis drive cabinets, the module processes motion commands, coordinates peripheral devices, and exchanges status data with higher-level PLCs. By integrating fieldbus communication and digital I/O on a compact card, it streamlines axis synchronization and safety monitoring in automated assembly cells, packaging lines, and material-handling systems. This arrangement reduces wiring complexity compared with discrete controller architectures.
The Bt bus uses a D-SUB 9 female socket and can extend 50 m, allowing remote expansion racks to be connected over a practical distance. Serial diagnostics use a D-SUB 15 female port that supports RS232/RS422/RS485 communication for service and integration tasks. Machine sensing is handled through 16 TTL inputs, and actuator commands are sent through 16 TTL outputs, with both groups operating at +5 V logic. Up to four operator terminals can be connected for parameter entry, and optional LK IBM 2 Interbus or LK DPM01 Profibus cards provide network connectivity. The electronics are powered from a +5/+12/-12 V DC backplane and include a watchdog relay rated for 24 V and 150 mA that drops out if an internal fault occurs.
The housing is 22 mm wide and 145 mm tall, and it projects 295 mm into the cabinet, so airflow must reach the heat-generating ASICs. Board logic draws up to 1.8 A from the +5 V rail during peak computation cycles, so the shared backplane supply must be sized for the combined load when several modules are installed in one rack. The module has a mass of 0.3 kg, which keeps handling simple during installation and service. Wiring practices should maintain connector tightness and shield continuity so communication remains stable during real-time operation.
