Product Description:
The MTS-P02.2-D2-P1-E1-NN-NN-FW servo control module is manufactured by Bosch Rexroth Indramat as part of the MTS Servo Control Modules series. This plug-in board serves as a programmable logic and communication interface between Indramat drives and higher-level automation systems, coordinating motion sequences, supervising peripheral status, and forwarding diagnostic data within networked plant environments. Because it operates inside the drive rack, it centralizes signal exchange between the motion hardware and the plant control layer without requiring a separate external control board. The housing has a depth of 295 mm, a height of 145 mm, and a width of 22 mm, which allows dense stacking in the drive cabinet.
The module draws its logic power from a +5 V backplane rail, and its worst-case current demand is 1.8 A, so the rack must reserve enough capacity for stable operation during communication and logic processing. For serial point-to-point or multidrop links, the communication controller supports RS232/RS422/RS485 modes, allowing the board to work with several common serial network layouts. A dedicated PROFIBUS ASIC supports data rates up to 12 MBaud, which enables fast data exchange with a central PLC during coordinated machine operation. Incoming machine states are buffered in a 128-byte input image so the control logic can evaluate them within a deterministic cycle.
For distributed I/O, the onboard TTL layer provides 16 input lines and 16 output lines, which lets the module exchange status and control signals directly with connected equipment. A relay with a hardware watchdog drives the PLC-ready contact so the drive amplifier remains inhibited until the module reports a healthy state, and motion data is mirrored to a separate output image for the central controller. When several modules share the local Bt backplane, the wiring distance must not exceed 50 m and no more than 4 panels may be daisy-chained, which helps preserve signal integrity at the specified 50 mV voltage ripple. A dual-port RAM of 8 Kbyte isolates PROFIBUS access from internal computations and reduces software polling delays.
