Sixteen digital inputs rated at 16 TTL lines capture encoder status, limit switches, or sensor flags, while an equal number of TTL outputs forward enable signals to downstream hardware. Field wiring enters through a Bt bus connector that uses a D-SUB 9-pin female socket, and the adjacent COM port uses a 15-pin D-SUB female connector to support RS232, RS422, or RS485 traffic. Internal backplane power is distributed on +5 V, +12 V, and -12 V rails, allowing the board to energize logic, transceivers, and opto-isolators without external converters.
The active PC/104 interface accepts up to 4 stackable PC/104 modules so embedded CPUs or specialized I/O cards can expand local processing. This arrangement supports application-specific control or interface functions without requiring a separate external computer. When the bus is fully loaded, logic devices draw a maximum of 1.8 A from the +5 V supply, and the design restricts output ripple to 50 mV on that rail and 120 mV on the ±12 V lines. Low ripple on the internal rails helps preserve signal integrity for high-speed serial communication and stable motion control.
