The MTS-P02.2-D2-B1-P2-NN-NN-FW module is part of the MTS Servo Control Modules series produced by Bosch Rexroth Indramat. It operates as a communication and sequencing processor that links multiple drives with factory networks, allowing coordinated motion control over fieldbus lines. Installed in a Rexroth servo rack, the module serves as a central gateway between local TTL-level I/O, Interbus infrastructures, and Profibus masters, which simplifies the integration of axis controllers into larger automation cells. By combining deterministic bus arbitration with fast backplane signaling, the unit helps maintain synchronized position loops across distributed machinery.

The module measures 22 x 145 x 295 mm, enabling dense stacking on a DIN rail without overhanging the rack profile. On the Interbus side, it supports an overall capacity of 4096 inputs / 4096 outputs, so a single card can exchange large amounts of cyclic data with connected remote stations. A fiber or copper ring may extend to 12.8 km while remaining within Interbus timing limits, and the segment table allows 256 individually addressable segments. The configuration file can register up to 512 users, giving each machine station a unique telegram slot. The module assumes the Interbus Master role and supervises initialization, diagnostics, and real-time polling. For panel communication, it links to the BT bus where a maximum of four operator panels can be daisy-chained, and it also provides sixteen TTL inputs and sixteen TTL outputs for direct sensor and relay wiring.

In the rack, the electronics draw 1.8 A from the shared +5 V line, so the supply must support that steady demand during continuous operation. On the Profibus side, the board is configured as a DP Slave that streams 244 bytes toward the controller and receives an identical length mapped into an 8 kbyte DPM dual-port memory space for deterministic access. When telegram bandwidth peaks at 12 Mbaud, the internal logic still maintains a slave image of 368 bytes that the master can address without wait states. Despite these interface resources, the assembly weighs only 0.3 kg, which reduces strain on card guides and makes handling easier during installation.
