The MTS-P02.2-D2-B1-NN-NN-NN-FW is a servo control module built by Bosch Rexroth Indramat within the MTS Servo Control Modules series. It serves as the coordinating brain of multi-axis drive systems, linking motion controllers, operator terminals, and distributed I/O so that automated machinery can execute synchronized sequences and exchange status data in real time. That role makes it suitable for coordinated packaging, assembly, and material-handling equipment where several subsystems must exchange commands and status data without delay. Up to four PC/104 mezzanine cards can be stacked for additional fieldbus or motion functions. The module also supports sixteen user levels with space for 512 authenticated operators, allowing controlled access to machine functions.

Compact mechanics help it fit tightly into cabinets: the housing is 22 mm wide, 295 mm deep, and its height of 145 mm aligns with standard rack frames. The logic plane is energized by +5 V / +12 V / -12 V supply rails, and the 5-volt line can deliver up to 1.8 A. A separate SPC-ready output provides 24 V / 150 mA for sensors, indicators, or field relays. These electrical rails separate control power from local sensor supply, which helps the module manage logic functions and panel devices at the same time. Onboard signal handling starts with 16 in / 16 out (TTL) channels for microsecond response, while remote expansion pushes capacity to 4096 in / 4096 out points per configuration.

Field communication relies on the Interbus interface that follows the DIN E 19 258 standard. When fiber or shielded copper is used, stations can be separated by up to 12.8 km without exceeding telegram timing, and the network may span 256 segments on one deterministic loop. This allows large conveyor, packaging, or assembly lines to remain on a single communication path across wide machine areas. For local human-machine interaction, the built-in Bt bus links as many as 4 operator panels over a 50 m ribbon cable while combining power and data in one connection. This layout supports operator access near the machine without requiring separate local wiring for each panel.
