The MTS-P01.2-D2-B1-P1-S4-NN-FW is a servo control module manufactured by Bosch Rexroth Indramat for the MTS Servo Control Modules series. Delivered as a plug-in motion controller, it installs in an ISA backplane inside an industrial PC and supervises multiple drives and peripheral devices. Its role in an automation system is to convert high-level program commands into synchronized axis motion while also providing diagnostic access and coordinated stop functions. This arrangement allows central control of motion sequencing and related machine communication from one board.

The board uses a Bt system link that can extend to 50 m, allowing connected drives to remain on the same communication trunk across a moderate machine distance. Communication for setup and service passes through RS232/RS422/RS485 interfaces, and separate serial channels allow simultaneous links to external control equipment and support software. For host installation, the module is built as an ISA-Bus Plug-In Card with a height of 145 mm, a depth of 295 mm, and a slot width of 22 mm, so it fits standard backplane layouts without using excessive cabinet space. During operation it draws 0.6 A from the backplane and accepts the supply rails of +5 V / +12 V / -12 V. The card can also host up to four PC/104 daughter boards and act as an Interbus master for cyclic fieldbus data exchange.

Continuous operation is allowed up to 75% RH relative humidity, and radiated or conducted emissions remain within EN 55022 Class A limits for industrial environments. Time-critical machine signals are handled through 16 TTL In / 16 TTL Out channels located on the card edge, which helps reduce delay between the controller and connected drives. For plant-level communication, the module acts as a Profibus DP Master, allowing synchronized command and status exchange with remote inverters and I/O stations. The same control platform can therefore manage local motion hardware and distributed network devices at the same time.
