Product Description:
The MTS-P01.1-S1-B1-P1-NN-NN-FW is a communication and memory expansion board manufactured by Bosch Rexroth Indramat for the MTS Servo Control Modules series. Installed in a supervisory PC or embedded controller, the card provides the interface that allows servo drives, remote I/O racks, and higher-level controllers to exchange cyclic and acyclic data over Interbus and Profibus networks. By acting as a dedicated slave, it offloads fieldbus processing from the primary CPU, maintains deterministic data flow, and fits into compact automation enclosures thanks to its narrow card format and pluggable front connectors.
The module connects to the host backplane through a 16-Bit ISA connector, so all register access follows standard x86 I/O addressing without additional glue logic. A local buffer of 1 MB RAM stores telegram tables and diagnostic logs, keeping bus traffic independent from the operating system scheduler. On the Interbus side, it can forward up to 4096 inputs and 4096 outputs, a capacity organized across 256 segments in accordance with DIN E 19 258. Profibus communication reaches a line rate of 12 Mbit/s, letting the card participate in time-critical motion tasks while operating as a passive field device under a central master.
The card is 280 mm deep, stands 124 mm high, and occupies just 17.5 mm of rack width, allowing dense stacking beside other control electronics. For Profibus, a process image of 512 bytes I/O is mapped directly into dual-port memory, so cyclic exchange occurs without software polling. Up to 32 Profibus subscribers and 512 Interbus subscribers can be addressed, and one onboard RS-232 port supports service diagnostics. Four PC/104 expansion modules can be stacked if additional non-volatile storage or custom interfaces are needed, while an 8 kB dual-port memory area is reserved for direct master access to parameter blocks.
