Product Description:
The MTS-P01.1-S1-B1-NN-NN-NN-FW is a servo control module manufactured by Bosch Rexroth Indramat as part of the MTS Servo Control Modules series. Intended for rack-mounted automation PCs, the unit translates high-speed command data into coordinated motion instructions for downstream drives and I/O stations. Within an installation, it establishes the primary Interbus network node so that axis controllers and sensors can be linked to supervisory software without excessive wiring overhead. This arrangement lets the host system manage motion traffic and fieldbus communication from one control point.
Host connection occurs through the computer’s ISA Bus, while a rear-panel RS-232C port permits local diagnostics. The module operates in slave mode toward the PC. To serve as the central Interbus coupler, the board carries an INTERBUS-S Master interface that can accommodate up to 512 devices in a configuration file. Each configuration may map as many as 4096 discrete input words to controller memory, and the same memory space is reserved for output data. Data exchange is supported by 1 MB RAM that buffers process images, and a 50-way ribbon connector named Nc Local Bus links the module to auxiliaries on nearby slots. Up to four PC/104 daughter modules can be stacked when extra protocols or processing are required.
For network organization, the master uses the hexadecimal address 120h as its own identifier and then supervises up to 256 bus segments arranged in as many as 16 device levels. Each segment may loop through 32 inline or remote devices without repeater hardware, which helps maintain deterministic cycle times at high I/O density. Output capacity matches input capacity for actuator commands. A watchdog circuit disconnects the network supply if control data cease; it is rated for 24 V at 150 mA, so external relays can be driven directly from the fail-safe line. The hierarchical bus layout keeps remote stations organized across larger distributed motion systems.
