Product Description:
The MTC-R02.1-M1-NN-NN-NN-FW is a rack-mount CNC control module manufactured by Bosch Rexroth Indramat for the MTC200 CNC Modules series. Housed in the system rack, it executes positioning algorithms and manages drive communication so that machine tools, transfer lines, and automated cells follow programmed toolpaths without an external PC. By integrating motion logic, sequencing, and diagnostics in one compact unit, it shortens panel wiring and standardizes control architecture across production machinery.
The controller runs from a nominal back-plane supply of 24 VDC, and internal capacitor charging draws a peak of 20 A at power-up. After this brief surge, steady consumption is limited to 930 mA, easing the load on cabinet power supplies. Supply ripple must stay within 4 Vpp to prevent logic resets. A ready relay on the front panel delivers 24 V at 150 mA for status signaling to upstream safety circuits. Motion firmware can coordinate up to 8 servo or spindle axes, and three rear expansion slots allow fieldbus, I/O, or memory cards to be added. The housing carries an IP20 ingress rating, so the module is intended for placement inside closed, dust-free control cabinets with forced convection.
Its mechanical envelope is only 83.7 × 192 × 152 mm, and the unit weighs 1.65 kg, allowing one-person installation. The board set occupies 2 contiguous rack slots and converts logic activity into as much as 26 W of heat, which must be extracted by cabinet airflow or conductive mounting rails. An M5 ground stud provides a low-impedance earth path, while supply terminals accept cable cross-sections up to 1.5 mm²; the protective conductor must be at least 6 mm² to satisfy fault-current rules. The compact layout leaves adequate clearance for optional daughter cards and helps the module fit into crowded automation racks.
