Product Description:
The MTC-R02.1-E1-A2-A2-A2-FW is a computer numerical control (CNC) processing module built by Bosch Rexroth Indramat for the MTC200 CNC Modules series. The card occupies the central slot group of an Indramat automation rack, linking motion programs from the machine HMI to the SERCOS fiber-optic loops that drive servo amplifiers. By executing interpolation, buffering, and diagnostic routines in real time, the module orchestrates coordinated axis movement in lathes, milling machines, and transfer lines.
Physically, the module’s footprint is 83.7 × 192 × 152 mm, allowing dense cabinet layouts without obstructing airflow. Its control kernel can supervise up to 32 axes, while each optical loop is limited to eight drives to maintain telegram timing. Control electronics are powered from the backplane at a nominal 24 VDC level; operation is permitted down to 18 VDC with a permitted ripple of 4 Vpp. Peak demand is 930 mA, and inrush protection on the cabinet supply must accept the startup spike defined separately. Touch protection is provided by an IP20 housing, and wiring guidelines call for 1.5 mm² supply conductors with a minimum 6 mm² protective earth. A watchdog relay rated for 150 mA at 24 V drops when processor activity stops, allowing an external safety circuit to react immediately.
Thermal management is straightforward because the circuitry releases only 26 W of heat under worst-case load, so standard cabinet fans usually suffice. During energization, the card can draw up to 20 A of inrush current, and supply breakers or soft-start modules must be sized for this transient. The module occupies exactly 2 slots in an MTA rack and weighs only 1.65 kg, which helps keep rack loading low. The module distributes axis messages within its stated heat, current, and communication limits when the specified cable and grounding sizes are used.
