The MTC-P01.2-M1-A2-NN-NN-FW EP is a computer numerical control module manufactured by Bosch Rexroth Indramat for the MTC200 CNC Modules series. Installed in an industrial PC backplane, the card supervises axis motion, I/O sequencing, and drive coordination inside automated machining centers and assembly lines. By combining axis logic, communication interfaces, and local memory on one board, the module serves as a central motion processor that links higher-level cell controllers with servo drives in real time.

The module incorporates an Axis Co-processor that executes interpolation cycles independently of the host CPU, allowing deterministic position updates even when the operating system is busy. Drive communication is handled over the SERCOS fiber-optic ring, so velocity commands and feedback share a synchronous 1 ms telegram with good noise immunity. On its own, the card can coordinate up to 8 drives; when two additional plug-in expansion boards are added, the total rises to 32 drives, allowing one control rack to handle complex multi-axis machines. Program and status data reside in 1 MB RAM, which provides enough space to buffer tool paths, parameter sets, and error logs while maintaining rapid access times.

Physical integration is simplified by the board's slim profile: it measures 17.5 mm in width, 124 mm in height, and 280 mm in depth within the chassis. These dimensions conform to the ISA plug-in card format, so it mates directly with legacy and hardened industrial PC motherboards. One expansion module is already installed at the factory, two card slots remain free, and the architecture supports a total of three auxiliary modules for later expansion. The design can monitor up to seven independent processes simultaneously, and its host platform expectation limits installation to PCs that provide standard ISA signaling and a stable 5 V supply across the backplane.
