Product Description:
The MTC-P01.2-M1-A2-A2-NN-FW is a plug-in motion and logic card produced by Bosch Rexroth Indramat for the MTC200 CNC Modules series. Installed in an industrial PC, the module acts as the axis controller that links digital drives with higher-level numerical control software, coordinating position loops and real-time sequencing for automated machine tools and handling systems. This separation lets the PC handle supervisory tasks while the card manages time-sensitive axis functions locally. For synchronous drive communication, the motion interface uses SERCOS, which delivers deterministic fiber-optic telegrams for velocity, torque, and diagnostic exchange.
Each card controls up to 8 axes, and this count is supported by a co-processor, so trajectory calculations do not burden the host CPU. Command and diagnostic data are exchanged through the ISA backplane, allowing straightforward integration into legacy 19-inch racks. That arrangement suits older control platforms where a standard peripheral bus remains part of the machine architecture. Program execution and buffering use 1 MB RAM, a capacity sized for part programs, axis parameters, and interpolation tables common to multi-axis machining. The board measures 17.5 × 124 × 280 mm, so it occupies a single slot while still leaving space for airflow inside the control cabinet. Three standard expansion connectors are present, and one of them remains unpopulated to accept optional I/O or fieldbus daughter cards. An export license is required when shipping this module across certain borders because of embedded encryption capability.
The controller is supplied as a Plug-In Card, and a backplane can host up to 4 module slots, which allows scalable channel counts on the same PC platform. Two A2 expansion boards are already mounted, giving the unit an integrated capacity of 8 drives without further hardware. One unused slot remains available for future signal conditioning or safety monitoring, and additional interface functions can be added on the same platform when application requirements expand.
