Internal Product Review
The MTC-P01.2-E2-A2-NN-NN-FW EP is an MTC200 CNC module configured as an ISA plug-in card with a SERCOS fiber-optic drive interface. PC/104 expansion support and capacity for 8 integrated drives give the module strong flexibility for coordinated machine control. A maximum of 32 drives makes this CNC module especially appealing for larger multi-axis installations.

Product Description:
The MTC-P01.2-E2-A2-NN-NN-FW EP is a computer numerical control module produced by Bosch Rexroth Indramat for the MTC200 CNC Modules series. Installed in a machine controller rack, the card orchestrates motion sequences and coordinates peripheral tasks in automated machining centers and assembly cells. It provides real-time interpolation, axis supervision, and field communication so that multiple servo drives and process stations follow the programmed tool path without timing errors.
The module connects to the host computer through the ISA bus and follows the ISA plug-in card mechanical outline for secure backplane seating. Drive commands are transmitted over SERCOS fiber optics, giving noise-immune, deterministic communication between the controller and the power stages. A memory bank of 2 MB RAM stores part programs, offsets, and status data, and a PC/104 expansion header allows additional I/O cards if needed. One board can supervise up to 8 drives, and system addressing can be extended to 32 drives before another CPU is required. The housing measures 124 mm in height, 280 mm in depth, and 17.5 mm in width, so several cards can fit side by side inside compact cabinets. Initialization status is reported through an NC-ready circuit before the machine power chain is enabled.
Native control covers 1 axis, and the rack accepts up to 3 extra axis modules to increase spindle or gantry capacity without altering the primary processor. Task scheduling can run as many as 7 concurrent processes, letting the controller handle spindle control, tool changing, and auxiliary hydraulic functions in parallel. Total card dimensions remain unchanged, while adjoining slots house the added axis boards. This layout supports expansion within the same controller rack and keeps the main processing card dedicated to interpolation and supervision.
