Product Description:
The MTC-P01.2-E1-NN-NN-NN-FW EP is a CNC processor board manufactured by Bosch Rexroth Indramat for integration in control racks that use the MTC200 CNC Modules series. Installed in a master rack alongside axis and I/O cards, the board handles numerical control sequencing, coordinates motion commands, and manages cyclic drive communication so multi-axis machine tools follow programmed paths with deterministic timing. Because it serves as the central CNC element in the rack, it links path calculation with machine logic and synchronized axis updates. It also provides an 8 ms power-fail alert so the control can react quickly to a loss of supply voltage.
An onboard coprocessor assists the main CPU by taking over mathematical routines, while the control program and axis parameters reside in 1 MB of RAM that is battery-backed to survive power cycling. The module plugs into the industrial ISA backplane, allowing it to exchange process data with PC-compatible host hardware without proprietary connectors. Drive commands are sent over a SERCOS fiber-optic interface that delivers noise-immune, time-synchronized telegrams for coordinated axis control. Physical coupling to that ring is made through a rugged FSMA (IEC 874-2) connector that prevents rotation and maintains precise ferrule alignment.
Optical transmission quality is maintained as long as link losses stay below 12.5 dB, which sets the maximum cable attenuation allowed in the machine cabinet. When the board signals NC-READY, it can source up to 150 mA at 24 V, giving downstream PLC inputs a clear indication that the controller is available. The optical transmitter launches at least -7.5 dBm, so paired receivers with adequate sensitivity can still register a stable logic high. The board also uses a 50-way ribbon SPS link for controller-side signal exchange, and a dedicated Rx sensitivity limit supports reliable optical reception when the fiber path approaches its allowable attenuation.
