Product Description:
The MTC-P01.1-E1-A1-NN-NN-NN-FW module is a control card produced by Bosch Rexroth Indramat for the MTC200 CNC Modules series. It functions as the central processing unit inside the numerical control stack, coordinating axis interpolation, logic sequencing, and user interface handling for machine tools and other automated equipment. Installed in a system rack, it connects to motion drives and I/O cards and maintains nonvolatile configuration data for part programs and machine parameters, so it occupies a critical role between the operator panel and the servo hardware.
An onboard 4 MB SRAM data memory holds real-time machining variables and status flags, ensuring cycle updates occur without wait states. The working code executes from 8 MB SDRAM main memory, giving the controller room for multitasking of PLC sequences and background diagnostics. Permanent operating software and user macros reside in 4 MB of flash memory, retaining information when power is removed. For parameter storage that changes infrequently, the unit uses a 256 Byte EEPROM area, while backup of tool offsets and production counters is placed in a 64 KB NVRAM space that does not require a battery. These memory areas separate volatile, retained, and permanent data so startup and shutdown behavior remains consistent with machine safety requirements.
The card communicates with the backplane through a ISA host bus that delivers address and data lines at the standard 8.33 MHz timing used in the series baseboard. Expansion toward auxiliary axis modules or fieldbus gateways is available through the PC/104 bus connector situated on the mezzanine edge. All instruction processing is handled by a Power PC microprocessor, which provides deterministic instruction pipelines suited to interpolation tasks. The carrier accommodates up to 4 module slots, so additional I/O or communication cards can be stacked without external cabling. A MiniDIN 8-pin service port is provided for offline parameter transfer and system updates while the machine remains offline.
