MST450E-0012-FT-N0CN-NNNN is a 17.6 kW torque motor that is capable of generating a nominal torque of 1400 Nm. This motor is designed to be heavy duty as it will be placed under the rotating objects, hence a rigid design for this motor was very necessary. The motor enclosure is made up of metal entirely and comes with a frame of size E. This motor combined with a stator and rotor weighs around 80 kg.
This motor can be cooled using efficient ventilation or using the inbuilt liquid cooling option that uses various liquid coolants to help reduce the temperature of the torque motor without the need for a noisy blower fan that draws a lot of power. The liquid cooling has a power dissipation rating of around 0.9 kW and is plenty efficient and effective. The pressure that needs to be maintained at the liquid inlet and outlet should never exceed 3 bars to prevent the liquid pressure from affecting the entire equilibrium of the liquid.
This motor is designed to be installed using a flange mounting option attaching the torque motor directly onto the system from the bottom especially when attaching it to the rotating disc used in milling and lathe machines to help maneuver an object on which the work is being performed at. To clean this motor, make sure to not use water of any kind as it does not come with water protection and ensure this motor is kept safe from rain and dust as it does not feature dust protection as well. In the case of fire, this torque motor can handle a maximum of 170 degrees of temperature as it comes with Class F thermal insulation.
