The MST291Z-0035-FT-N0RN-S004 from Rexroth is part of the MST290 series of torque motor that operates in synchronous operation mode. This motor comes with an average torque rating of 10.5 Nm and can generate a rated speed around 180 rpm. This motor can provide a maximum rotational torque of up to 1150 Nm which is very impressive given that this motor has a very compact and portable design. The torque constant for this design is around 16.4 Nm for every ampere of current that it consumes at 20 degrees Celsius temperature.
This motor comes with the S004 special feature which allows the shaft of this motor to feature a keyway design that locks onto a coupler on any other component that needs to be spun. The keyway design comes with a special locking mechanism to prevent the attached coupler from slipping during rotations. Even though this motor is designed to be direct drive, the S004 special keyway design provides an extra protection layer to ensure the mechanism attached is perfectly rigid.
