Product Description:
The MST291Z-0035-FT-N0RN-S004 torque motor is produced by Bosch Rexroth Indramat within the MST Synchronous Torque Motors series. As an open-kit, three-phase synchronous unit, it delivers high continuous torque directly at the load, eliminating gearboxes in indexing tables, rotary transfer stations, and other precision automation axes. Because the stator and rotor ship separately, builders can integrate the active parts into custom housings while still benefiting from the motor’s liquid-cooled design and high torque density in space-constrained machines.
The motor’s cabling is sized for a sheath diameter of 12.0 mm, giving room for both power and feedback conductors in one routed bundle. Power leads use a cross-section of 1.0 mm², and the separate control pair uses 2 x 0.75 mm², which helps limit resistive loss while keeping the harness flexible. Heat generated in the windings is removed by liquid cooling, allowing the stator iron to remain within its thermal limits during continuous duty. The assembly carries an IP00 protection rating, so it must be installed inside a guarded enclosure that shields it from dust, oil, and accidental contact.
A closed coolant circuit with a heat exchanger isolates process water from the plant supply and helps prevent fouling near the windings. Electrical terminations exit through a radial large-OD interface, simplifying ring-cable layouts on rotating tables. The motor can be mounted up to 1000 m above sea level without derating, operates between 0 °C and 40 °C, and emits no more than 75 dB(A) at full load. Thermal encapsulation secures the copper against vibration and improves heat transfer, while the open-kit design and three-phase synchronous construction provide flexibility for integration into rigid machine frames.
