The MST290E-0018-FT-N0RN-NNNN torque motor is produced by Bosch Rexroth Indramat as part of the MST Synchronous Torque Motors series. This frameless unit is intended for direct-drive rotary tables, extruders, and similar machinery where slow, constant rotation with high torque is required. By eliminating gearboxes, it transmits mechanical energy directly from its stator to the load, improving positional accuracy and reducing maintenance demands in industrial automation lines.

The motor delivers a continuous output of 563 Nm at a rated shaft speed of 240 rpm, corresponding to 14.15 kW of mechanical power while drawing 34.3 A from the drive. These steady-state figures mean the machine can hold large static or slowly varying loads without thermal overload when coolant flows through its 310 mm diameter jacket. Water cooling is provided by an open aluminum jacket that measures 195 mm in length, extracting heat directly from the winding set. A 6.0 mm² power lead, factory-terminated and extended to 2000 mm, accommodates the rated current with minimal voltage drop. The housing remains frameless, so the user integrates the stator into a dedicated machine structure.

When transient duty cycles demand extra drive force, the stator can accept 125 A momentarily to generate up to 1150 Nm of peak torque. Thirty pole pairs create the dense magnetic field needed for high torque at low speed, and they also impose a low electrical frequency that reduces inverter switching losses. Because the assembly is rated IP00, it must be installed inside a closed machine frame or cabinet that provides contamination control and personal safety. With a mass of 30 kg, the stator is light enough for horizontal mounting and heavy enough to help damp vibration. Its 2000 mm flying leads also simplify routing to the power module.
