Product Description:
The MST290D-0004-FS-N0CN-SG01 is a brushless synchronous torque motor manufactured by Bosch Rexroth Indramat as part of the MST Synchronous Torque Motors series. Supplied as a stator module with an axial-cable interface, it is built for direct-drive rotary axes where coarse gear stages can be removed. In automated winding stations, indexing tables, and large valve actuators, the motor delivers continuous low-speed motion while maintaining high positional stiffness. Because torque is produced directly at the rotary element, the axis can respond without the compliance that often comes from intermediate transmission components.
Under nominal operating conditions, the motor produces 350 Nm of torque at a shaft speed of 45 rpm, giving a mechanical output of 1.65 kW. That steady-state load is sustained with a phase current of 10.4 A, so the drive can be matched to the motor’s continuous demand. With a torque constant of 33.70 Nm/A, each additional ampere from the drive contributes a predictable rise in torque. The stator’s electromagnetic circuit presents a winding inductance of 75 mH, which shapes current ripple and influences servo regulator bandwidth. This helps the controller regulate low-speed torque with stable current behavior during continuous operation. These ratings describe the continuous operating range used for thermal loading, inertia matching, and cycle-time calculations.
For short duty bursts, the motor can reach 700 Nm when the supply is allowed to deliver up to 30 A. The motor has 30 pole pairs, which produce high-resolution magnetic steps that help smooth operation at very low speeds. Additional characteristics include a 20.0 kg stator mass, a winding resistance of 13.6 Ω, and a voltage constant of 2.190 V min⁻¹ at 20 °C, all of which affect drive tuning and protection settings. The design is supplied without an encoder, uses a large-diameter axial power cable, and permits a maximum coolant inlet pressure of 3.0 bar when the optional liquid jacket is used. The axial cable layout also keeps power routing aligned with the motor body in compact installations.
