The MST290D-0002-FT-N0CN-NNNN is a frameless torque-motor stator produced by Bosch Rexroth Indramat within the MST Synchronous Torque Motors series. Intended for direct-drive rotary tables, indexing heads, or similar low-speed axes, it delivers high torque without a gearbox by coupling the electromagnetic core directly to the machine shaft. Eliminating mechanical transmission stages helps minimize backlash and improves positioning accuracy, while the integrated aluminum jacket allows the stator to share a common process-coolant circuit with other motion components.

Under nominal conditions, the unit generates 350 Nm at 25 rpm, drawing a phase current of 6.3 A and providing 0.90 kW of mechanical power. Its electromagnetic efficiency is reflected by a torque constant of 55.50 Nm/A, which means modest current produces substantial spindle torque. Heat is removed through liquid cooling; a 135 mm long jacket must receive 7.0 l/min of coolant to keep copper temperature within limits. The encapsulation uses an aluminum sleeve that also forms the mounting surface, and the 310 mm outside diameter increases pole surface for smooth torque production. Because the continuous current remains moderate, a 1.0 mm² power conductor cross-section is sufficient for stator wiring.

For short duty cycles, the stator delivers up to 700 Nm while the peak winding current is held to 25 A. Copper losses during these transients are governed by a winding resistance of 20.6 Ω at 20 °C, so inverter voltage must accommodate the corresponding drop. The 20.0 kg mass adds thermal inertia, and the liquid path fully surrounds the active stack to help prevent local hot spots. This arrangement helps the motor absorb fluctuating process loads without exceeding insulation or coolant-system limits.
