Product Description:
The MST210E-0027-FT-N0CN-NNNN is a torque motor built by Bosch Rexroth Indramat within the MST Synchronous Torque Motors series. As a direct-drive unit, it supplies high continuous torque at very low speed so rotary tables, extruders, or printing cylinders can run without mechanical gear reduction. By integrating the stator and rotor into the machine frame, the motor supports precise angular positioning and helps eliminate the backlash commonly associated with conventional geared systems.
Under nominal operating conditions, the unit delivers 240 Nm of continuous shaft torque while turning at 330 rpm. These values establish the steady-duty operating point that the connected inverter must support during normal production. At that point, electrical power draw reaches 8.3 kW, converting input energy into mechanical rotation. The phase conductors carry a continuous current of 24 A rms, so the drive and protection devices must be selected for that load. For short acceleration periods, the electromagnetic system can reach a peak torque of 500 Nm, allowing the axis to overcome static friction and temporary process disturbances without stalling.
Transient current can rise to 90 A, and cable runs to the stator must therefore use 4.0 mm² conductors to limit voltage drop. Thermal energy is removed through water flowing around a 195 mm long open aluminum jacket, which helps keep winding temperature within its intended operating range. The cylindrical housing measures 230 mm in outside diameter, giving ample surface area for heat exchange while still fitting within common machine frames. A protection rating of IP00 applies, so the motor must be installed inside an enclosed machinery compartment that prevents accidental contact and shields the motor from surrounding contaminants. With a mass of 23 kg, the rotor-stator assembly adds a manageable load to the host structure while maintaining high torque density.
