Product Description:
The MST161C-0140-FT-N0CN-NNLE is a frameless torque-motor stator produced by Bosch Rexroth Indramat within the MST Synchronous Torque Motors series. Designed for direct-drive integration inside rotary tables or indexing axes, it supplies smooth rotation without gears and supports precise speed control in compact machine layouts. Its frameless format also allows the stator to be built directly into the surrounding machine structure, which helps reduce the space required for separate drive components.
Under nominal operating conditions, the unit delivers a rated torque of 52.0 Nm at 1400 min⁻¹, corresponding to a mechanical output of 7.60 kW. The associated phase current is 17.4 A, and the torque constant is 3.25 Nm/A. To cover short-duty peaks, the winding can accept 53.0 A, letting the motor generate up to 160 Nm of instantaneous torque before saturation. The electromagnetic design uses 10 pole pairs, so the drive must supply a synchronized stator field that matches the motor’s electrical order. Standstill torque reaches 65 Nm, allowing stable holding without an external brake. With a winding resistance of 2.0 Ohm and an inductance of 10.6 mH, the stator presents moderate impedance for precise current control with compatible Rexroth servo inverters.
Thermal management is handled by water cooling through integrated channels, and the required flow rate is 2.0 l/min to keep winding temperature within design limits at rated load. The stator laminations are secured in place and protected against moisture by thermal encapsulation, which improves heat transfer to the jacket and helps damp vibration during operation. A mass of 6.6 kg keeps the module suitable for compact axes while still providing enough material to moderate temperature changes during continuous duty. When coolant flow is maintained, the motor can support continuous operation in high-accuracy positioning applications such as machine tools and printing tables.
