Units in this series are intended to be built directly into rotary tables, indexing heads, or low-speed drive shafts so that mechanical gearboxes can be eliminated and position accuracy improved. By delivering high continuous torque at comparatively low rotational speed, the stator forms the electromagnetic core of a direct-drive system used in industrial automation and machining centers.
Under continuous operation, the stator reaches its rated operating point at 500 rpm; at this speed, it produces a stable output of 25.0 Nm, corresponding to 1.31 kW of mechanical power. The electrical demand for that condition is a rated phase current of 6.1 A. A torque constant of 4.30 Nm/A links the developed torque linearly to the applied current, while the phase winding inductance of 40 mH shapes current rise time and aids controller stability.
