The MST110D-0400-FG-NNNN torque motor stator is produced by Bosch Rexroth Indramat within the MST Synchronous Torque Motors series. It serves as the stationary part of a direct-drive system that delivers high continuous torque at low speed for rotary tables, extruders, or printing drums in industrial automation. Operating on synchronous electromagnetic principles, the stator aligns the rotating magnetic field of its associated inverter to the machine shaft without reduction gearing, which helps reduce maintenance needs and backlash. Because the stator does not include an integrated position sensor, the machine must use an external encoder or resolver suited to the required feedback method. Direct-drive operation also helps the axis respond smoothly because there is no gearbox between the motor and the load.

A sealed steel body surrounds the windings and provides liquid cooling through internal channels that form a closed water circuit. Coolant enters at the base and exits at the head, giving the specified bottom-to-top flow path and keeping copper temperature below thermal limits during continuous duty. Every stator is supplied with a stator cooling jacket, which simplifies manifold plumbing and promotes even heat transfer across the housing. The active package uses an open (modular) construction concept, allowing the stator to be clamped directly into the machine housing while leaving clear access for power and sensor cabling. This arrangement also supports compact machine layouts where the motor must fit closely around the driven structure.

The inverter that drives this model must furnish a 540 VDC bus and modulate a 3-phase current set that matches its low-speed, high-torque characteristics. Under rated electrical excitation, the stack reaches 400 rpm, which is suitable for indexing duties and other applications with large rotating masses. The assembly carries an IP00 ingress rating, so guarding and sealing must be provided by the host machine. An external feedback device can be mounted at the load flange to reduce compliance error and improve positional repeatability. This layout also gives the machine builder more freedom when selecting the feedback system location and type.
