The IndraDyn S MSM series of synchronous motors from Bosch Rexroth reduces on cost by employing a maintenance-free design. Motors in this family feature a space-saving design, a holding brake, and connectors for easy interfacing with a feedback device and power source. With an international protection rating of IP54, Bosch MSM motors are ideal for use in an industrial environment high levels of dust without harmful deposits and water splashes coming from all directions. To ensure precise positioning, Bosch Rexroth MSM motors feature either optical single-turn absolute value encoder or an optical multi-turn absolute value encoder.
The MSM020B-0300-NN-M0-CG1 is a Rexroth IndraDyn S MSM synchronous servo motor. It employs an optical multi-turn absolute encoder for feedback allowing it to be used with applications that require slow movements in multiple rotations. The encoder’s absolute nature makes the motor ideal for use with specialized applications requiring multiple references in a single shaft revolution. The motor features a holding brake with a torque rating of 0.29 N-m to improve on safety when the motor is at standstill with a connected load. For electrical connection, the MSM020B-0300-NN-M0-CG1 has a cable tail. By employing a natural convection cooling methods, it should be mounted and operated in well ventilated environments with free flow of cool air.
