The Bosch MSK100C-0300-NN-S2-LG2-RNNN is an advanced servo motor. It comes with an integrated singleturn encoder. Singleturn encoders provide feedback within a single shaft rotation. The encoder has an EnDat 2.1 interface and is rated for 2048 signal periods. Bosch provides six different encoders for MSK motors. Operators can select the desired encoder at the time of motor ordering. MSK motors also feature an optional holding brake. This brake is a safety feature that prevents shaft rotation at startup. The brake only releases the shaft after application of a 24 Volts DC signal. Holding torque of the brake on the MSK100C-0300-NN-S2-LG2-RNNN motor is 70 Nm. Operators can also order a brake rated for 32 Nm holding torque. Depending on requirement, operators can order MSK motors with different housing. The housing on the MSK100C-0300-NN-S2-LG2-RNNN has increased concentricity and run out.

Operators can order two types of shaft for MSK motors: shaft with keyway or smooth shaft. The main shaft on the MSK100C-0300-NN-S2-LG2-RNNN motor is smooth. The motor shaft also includes a shaft seal. The function of the seal it to prevent oil leakage. The seal also prevents ingress of contaminants such as dust and moisture. However the seal degrades during operation and needs periodic replacement. The MSK100C-0300-NN-S2-LG2-RNNN belongs to the IP65 protection category. It is totally dust proof. Other than the shaft seal, the sealed motor housing and sealed cable connectors also contribute to the excellent protection rating. The MSK100C-0300-NN-S2-LG2-RNNN cools via natural convection. Depending on the load conditions, operators can also use a cooling fan or blower to increase the rate of heat dissipation. The electrical connection on the motor is on the left side of the housing.
