The MSK101D-0450-FN-M1-AG3-NNNN is a MSK series servo motor from Bosch Rexroth. It is a synchronous motor: its speed is synchronized with the incoming electrical current frequency. A drive controller supplies the current for the motor. In addition to supplying motor power, the drive controller also controls motor speed, position and torque. The MSK101D-0450-FN-M1-AG3- NNNN motor features a digital sensor known as an encoder that measure motors speed and positon, and sends this information to the controller. The controller uses motor feedback to ascertain whether the motor is performing as per requirements. If motor parameters are out of range, the controller modulates its output to bring motor parameters in line with desired parameters. Prior to system commissioning, an operator programs the controller with desired motor parameters. The encoder on the MSK101D-0450-FN-M1-AG3-NNNN motor is an optical multiturn absolute encoder with Hiperface and 128 signal periods.

The MSK101D-0450-FN-M1-AG3-NNNN includes a holding brake with 120 Nm holding torque. The function of the brake is to prevent shaft rotation from standstill. The brake is basically a safety device designed to prevent unintended shaft rotation. The brake only releases the shaft after application of a 24 Volts DC signal. The MSK101D-0450-FN-M1-AG3-NNNN motor has a smooth shaft with a sealing ring. The power socket is on side A of the motor housing. The MSK101D-0450-FN-M1-AG3-NNNN is designed for liquid cooling. A coolant flows through the cooling jacket on the motor and absorbs heat dissipated by the motor. The coolant then transfers the heat to another coolant inside an exchanger located outside the motor.
