Product Description

The Bosch MSK100C-0450-NN-S1-AP2-NNNN is an industrial servo motor. It comes with an integrated singleturn encoder. The encoder is an optical device that supports the Hiperface protocol and is rated for 128 signal periods. The function of the encoder is to measure motor speed, torque and position. The motor sends these measurements to a connected drive controller. The function of the controller is to monitor and control motor operating parameters. The controller does this by first accessing feedback from the motor and then varying its output to bring motor parameters in line with parameter values that are programmed by an operator. The controller also supplies motor power via a dedicated power cable. This power cable connects to a power connection on side A of the motor housing. MSK series motors have either a smooth shaft or a shaft with keyway.

The MSK100C-0450-NN-S1-AP2-NNNN has a shaft with a keyway. The function of the keyway is to prevent relative rotation between the motor shaft and the connected machine. This helps to ensure effective transfer of torque to the connected machine. The motor shaft is fitted with a sealing ring. This shaft seal protects the motor bearings from dust and moisture. The shaft seal also prevents leakage of motor oil. The combination of the shaft seal, sealed motor housing and sealed cable connectors gives the MSK100C-0450-NN-S1-AP2-NNNN an IP65 protection rating. The motor is dust proof and safe from low-pressure water jets. The motor housing has a standard design. The motor includes an integrated 70 Nm rated holding brake. This brake is a safety device that prevents shaft rotation at startup. Typical applications of MSK motors include robotics, machine tools and metal-forming machines.
