The Bosch Rexroth MSK100B-0400-NN-M1-RG0-NNNN is an industrial servo motor. It is known as a servo motor as it is equipped with a sensor – known as an encoder – that provides feedback to a connected controller. The function of the encoder is to measure motor speed, torque, and position. The controller uses motor feedback to determine if the motor speed and position are the same or if they are different from desired values programmed by an operator. Depending on the difference, if any, the controller adjusts its output. The motor responds to the controller output by making its speed and position match the desired speed and position values. This process continues as long as the system is in operation. Servo systems comprised of MSK motors are widely deployed for commercial applications that include robotics, food-processing machines, packaging machines and machine tools.
The MSK100B-0400-NN-M1-RG0-NNNN is a servo motor with frame length 100 and frame size B. The code for the motor winding is 0400. Depending on operating load, the motor can be used with either surface cooing or natural convection. Surface cooling relies on a cooling fan to force air across the motor housing. The improved heat dissipation provided by surface cooling allows the motor to deliver higher levels of output torque and current. The output torque is 28 Nm with natural convection, and increases to 42 m with surface cooling. The output current is 24.5 amps with natural convection, and increases to 35.6 Amps with surface cooling. The MSK100B-0400-NN-M1-RG0-NNNN features an optical multiturn encoder, a power socket on the right side and a smooth shaft with sealing ring. The IP65 rated motor housing has a standard design.
