Bosch Rexroth’s MSK synchronous motors set new standards in the motion and logic industry. They are a combination of past experiences and new technologies. These motors are characterized by their high dynamics, compact construction, and high torque density. Due to their new optical encoder systems, they display extremely high degrees of precision. They have different powers and interfaces for their highly varied application-specific use. Their areas of application include machine tools, printing and paper processing machines, food processing and packaging machines, metal forming machines, and robotics.
The MSK100B-0300-NN-M3-AG0-NNNN has a maximum torque of 102.0Nm, four pole pairs, and a maximum speed of 4,500 rpm. It is equipped with an optical multiturn absolute encoder with the Hiperface interface that controls the motor’s speed and position. It replaces separate incremental encoders used with the motor. This encoder also has a data memory that preserves the information obtained even after the machine is switched off. It also stores the motor name, control loop parameters, and other motor parameters. The output shaft of this motor is a plain one with a shaft sealing ring without a holding brake.
With its standard design, the MSK100B-0300-NN-M3-AG0-NNNN is a self-cooling motor with heat dissipated over natural convection into the ambient air and by heat conduction to the machine construction. Its degree of protection is IP 65; hence it is protected against damage from shock, penetration of dust, and water jets from different directions. It is painted black (RAL 9005) with a 2K epoxy coating resin that protects it from diluted acids or alkaline solutions, mineral oils, water, and sewage. This coating also offers limited protection against hydraulic oil and organic solvents.
