Bosch Rexroth has an extensive range of products, including high-speed motors. One of these is the IndraDyn S motor family, to which the MSK motor series belongs. The MSK motors stand out from others because of their wide power spectrum and narrow size increments. The motors in the series have a high torque density, which allows a compact design with maximum torques of up to 631 Nm. The MSK series are ideal for applications beyond the typical standard applications of servo motors. Their areas of applications include machine tools, printing and paper processing machines, food and packaging machines, metal forming machines, and robotics.

The cooling system of the MSK071D-0450-NN-M1-UP1-NNNN is natural convection. Blowers can be fitted to this motor optionally to increase its reliability. The motor is equipped with the multiturn absolute encoder with the Hiperface interface. This encoder system uses the optical measurement method and has a system accuracy of ±80 angular seconds. It permits the absolute, indirect position evaluation of the motor within 4,096 mechanical rotations. It also has a data storage feature.

The MSK071D-0450-NN-M1-UP1-NNNN is fitted with a shaft with a keyway conforming to DIN 6885-1 and a shaft sealing ring that stops fluid from entering the shaft. It is also equipped with an electrically-released holding brake that holds the servo axes at a standstill when the motor is disconnected from power. There are two electrical connections here, the power connector, and the encoder connector. The power connector has a connection for the holding brake. This motor has a protection rating of IP 65, which implies that it is completely protected against damage from shock, dust penetration, and water jets from different directions.
