The controller compares feedback from the motor with desired values that are programmed by an operator. The controller then adjusts its output, if required, to bring motor speed and torque in line with programmed values. This type of control system is known as a closed loop system. The motor continuously sends feedback to the controller. The controller continuously adjusts its output to control motor speed and torque. The encoder on the MSK071D-0300-NN-S1-UP1-NNNN is a singleturn optical encoder with Hiperface support.

The motor also features an integrated 23 Nm rated holding brake.
