By combining the motor, encoder system, and brake in one housing, the unit supports compact axis layouts and reduces the need for separate motion components around the machine.

The motor dissipates heat through natural convection, so no external fans or liquid circuits are required, and mounting space must allow free airflow around the housing. For feedback, a Hiperface interface carries position data and electronic nameplate information to the controller, while the optical scanning system resolves 128 signal periods and reports absolute rotor position within one revolution through a single-turn design.
