As a compact rotary drive element, the unit converts controlled electrical power from a compatible drive into precise mechanical torque and speed for positioning axes, pick-and-place gantries, and packaging machines in automated production cells. In closed-loop motion systems, it supports accurate acceleration, deceleration, and position holding during repetitive machine cycles. The motor uses frame size 040 with length code B, giving a compact footprint while providing enough active material for responsive servo performance.

Thermal management relies on natural convection, meaning heat dissipates through the aluminum housing without fans or liquid circuits. The feedback system uses a Hiperface interface with an optical sensor. The encoder provides 128 signal periods per revolution for commutation and position evaluation.
