MS2N06-D1BNN-CMSH2-NNNNN-NN is a high-performance synchronous motor with an integrated encoder. An encoder is a sensor in an electric motor that provides feedback on the motor’s position, speed, or direction of rotation. It is a critical component in systems where precise motion control is needed. Closed-loop control systems constantly compare the desired motion to the actual motion, as measured by the encoder. They then adjust the motor’s power to correct any difference. Encoders provide real-time feedback in closed-loop control systems to ensure the motor is doing exactly what the controller is commanding it to do. Bosch MS2N servo motors work in combination with a compatible motor controller (servo controller). This controller provides power for the motor, and as described above, monitors and controls the motor. MS2N06-D1BNN-CMSH2-NNNNN-NN is a motor with an integrated multiturn encoder.

This is a high-performance encoder with 20-bit resolution. This encoder transmits feedback to the controller via a cable that connects the two devices. This same cable is used for power transmission to the motor and for transmission of control signals from the controller to the motor holding brake.
